Woah..tt's a 5 days no blog..oh dear..kkz..quite happening..

Wednesday

1st thing: tmd..sars qn came out. =x Grr...toopid Dr Goh..well..at least i still remembered abit of hints from tuesday...hmm. But genomics was a letdown. Tmd..really "easy" sia. Cos dr goh said IL prac exam was easy..and hence..genomics was easy too. Haha..kns..i wrote for 2 hrs and 1 minute. Ya..teacher say pens down..but i managed to scribble my last sentence down. And its 60%! Dr Goh juz have to kill us 1 lor..:( I don like you Dr Goh..haha. That sounded childish..anyway..so all of us..being abit upset and all i guess. After exam, me, eugene and joanna went over to NUS to find our workplace 1st. Didnt wan to go early on that day juz to find the place. Managed to find that place..but tt's after walking through NUH's staff walkway (dunno how to describe). Its juz like...err..this way is for staff to walk type? Its really like a tunnel kinda way..stretched for around 200m like that..ya..we were weaving through left and right. Lucky this security lady led us. After that..went to dept of piadetrics (how 2 spell ah?) and thought it was there. Go wrong le..so another lady (ya..joanna still hv her ask-alot-of-qn attitude in her..she practically asked for directions with every1 she sees..lol), a nurse i think..she brought us to NUH's main door. Pointed out the building we wanted..so we walked there. Hey hey hey..juz realised its so near the medical library (we went there for our research paper treasure hunt)..and that we juz walked 1 entire round around to get there. Argh..should had turned right..:p Ya..so eugene and joanna's building is really like wat Dr zaman described..the small building behind a big building that's beside a carpark. Haha..it looked like the shabbiest lab..its 1 level only (or maybe its like in the movies where there's basements and hidden radioactivity work!!) ..so eugene and i really amused. So they got their place..but their supervisor left. Peeking into the door..and we walked off. Then we saw a should-be-the-supervisor lady walk past. But they decided not to call out to her. Said that monday can see her. Den my turn. So clinical research centre is beside the cute small lab..and besides the medical lib too! (i think) Anyway..went to lv 3..only to realised its so high security. Reached lv 3 lobby..I see 4 doors..3 of them are locked by smart card systems..and the only 1 not locked is the door leading to the toilet corridor. =x I went home..

Me and eugene really defiant..so we walked from NUS to BV mrt..wrong choice. Saw mingsheng..but the route is sickening long. Ah...anyway..so took 198 at BV there. Missed 1 train juz cos i lazy to stand up..oops. Saw (shit..wat's her name?) oh..meiyue..ppl saw she very chio..but maybe i know her for too long liao ba. Same pri, same sec, same jc 1st 3 mths..chio meh? Hehe..anyway..thinking of whether to go central buy the toilet paper on offer. Ya..mom has weird suggestions. Didnt go though..gonna be late for meet 8:00pm at orchard mrt. Ate quickly..and changed. Makin my hair when shoba called. End up meet at 8:30. Gd gd..i dont hv to rush le. Watched finish Holland V too..hehe. Met there..kevin wearing mickey mouse shirt. Hup ger shoba zy there liao. So played daide..then emman, berd and (wat's his name? Daddues?) came. Set off! Dropped at near great world there. OMG..didnt know zouk was so near! Anyway..went inside..but it was empty. Haha..we were wondering..errr...wrong time ba. Walked to great world..gerard played a cute game. The "you can only ask qn..den i ans yes or no" type of game. Played two..den went back to zouk. Suddenly it became so crowded..and wa lau..the cigg smoke ah..*cough cough. Joyce rc and victor found us..den zouk no place to sit so we went phuture. Got a table..and started drinking abit. Hmm..got wat ah? Vokah (i forgot how 2 spell!! =x) lime..b**** coke , long island (izzit?) vokha red bull, something mixed with whisky i think, some cherry mixed, and some orange thing too. Haha..nver really drink so much b4..so after a while..my head started to feel funny. Really! I feel like my head cannt control type? If it falls to 1 side..i cant get it up kinda of feeling. Haha..walking to the toilet also diff sia. Want to fall want to fall feeling. But i can think totally logically..hmmmm. So fascinated with that feeling..so didnt go dance. And the best part? I saw zhiwen!!!!!!!! =x I didnt recognise him at 1st..so hup told me. I went omg...chee mun! Then he said he didnt recognise me too. =x And he acted so friendly with me..lol. Den found out who i am..and gave me that warm feeling again. Ah..he hasnt changed at all. :)

So drank and end up..went to squeeze on the dance floor. So funny..no place to dance..so juz jump abit here and there. Rocked here..rocked there..i keep bumping into ppl. Didnt know human contact was that warm..ah....haiz. Anyway..so went back..and they all went to stone. I stone there..playing with my heavy head..and den suprisingly! Two girls approached and offer me a shot of dunno wat. So surprised and being the sua-ku me..took it but nver down it. Haha..the girls was tellin me to drink (they looked irritated) and den i juz hide it behind a jug (or izzit called a jar?) Furious..they took it back..haha. Too tipsy to feel embarrased..so juz luf softly. Lol. Alot of yr biotech ppl there too..didnt recognise them though. Party ended soon (was long for me though..haha) and tada! We crossed the rd (wanted to eat supper with zhiwen 1..but lost him) and stoned at the playground opposite. Bought snacks from the shell station nearby..and stoned there till 6++ Towards the end..slept..and den woke up. Took 51 change 139 home. Ah..

Thursday
Reached home ard 7+ from yesterday. Bathed and went straight to bed. But funny ah..i woke up at 11 am+. Didnt sleep so much...i think im too excited. Exams are over!! Yay~ Played wolf till 2 plus am i guess. Supervisor called me..oh ya. Asso. Prof Chua is not my supervisor. She's my supervisor's boss. =x called her on wed when i went over. But i didnt even know her name after i hung up. hehe. Anyway..3+ pm (ya..i jump here jump there while writing blog), called and ask if i can meet her at 3 pm on friday. Oh well..i figured out should be can ba..so agree. Thursday was catch up with wolf desire mainly. :p

Friday
Ultra happening. Didnt sleep alot..so went down to NUS at 2+. Took only 35 minutes..so happy. The busstop (if i take 197..btw..its the only bus for me) is only 4 busstops away. Walk to busstop: 7 minutes. Wait for bus: 10. Busride: 10. Walked there..5 minutes. I love my attachment already..lol. Anyway..so reached there..called her..but she nver pick up. Went to the toilet before that..they have a male/female toilet!!! =x Im curious..really. Alle mcbeal? Ya..so was starin at the notice board (eh? its abt radioactivty 32, 33P and 35S..hmm) when a lady approached me. "You from Ngee ann?" Ok..so she's my supervisor. She walked with a limp...die..is that a sensitive topic? Oh well..so followed her and this old lect to a lab. Its nus format, the lab. How 2 describe? Meng should noe..last time we went over to NUS for a err...see yeast thing. wat was it ah? anyway..the layout was familar. Small though. So talked to them abt wat my project will be abt. Heng sia..i made some correct answers to their questions..so they think im a smart person. They didnt know at first i was from biotech though (huh? i thought ngee ann will say 1?) Anyway..so they treated me like a complete idiot at first. Ya..its either they don look well on poly students (Dr Lim, my supervisor mentioned i was from POLY to Dr Liew..wat's tt supposed to mean anyway? =x) or they juz wan to be safe in case i don understand. Well..it was tough actually..when they talked. But surprisely..i can understand! So they ask me..whether i know wat's cell culture. Wats chimeric. And quite some other. I think i made a gd impression..really. So i went "so u mean if these clones don hv the expressed proteins..we go back to square 1?" Dr lim praised me on "im glad he can reliterate back to us so that we know he understands". So happy. Anyway..so my disgusting hard to understand proj is on:

A study of chimeric protein, sder p1-blot t5-der p2 on CHO cells.

I finally know wat's CHO cells liao. haha..chinese hamster ovary cells. Wee~ Anyway..so they did recombinant work on the plasmid..and tranfect into CHO cells. Den the CHO cells supposed to express the protein. Protein isolated from medium (its secreted..thankfully) and SDS-PAGE (they so happy when i said ya..SDS-PAGE to separate the proteins..=x) is to be run. Then i do western blot (something new!!) rather than ELISA (i forgot wat it stands for..lol..lucky they nver ask..enzyme link immuno ** assay??) . Cos they say reagents is lacking for ELISA. So basically..i'll do cell culture, animal work (mice mice..), western blot and hopefully no molecular work. Cos if i hv to..means i go back to square 1..when the plasmid don get expressed nicely. Chimeric proteins still hv a problem on folding (i mentioned that!! :p) it seems..so they wan to see 1st. I need to do dilution cloning..and they label mice there by cutting off their fingers. Will do patching work for the lactobacillus mice (alternate proj) and lalala, im getting tired. Im typing for 1.5 hrs liao..and im only 2/3 through. Need to iron lab coat. Eyes hurting too.

Err..so..i like my supervisor, they got new technique called DNA sensitization...den was shown a way through the security doors. =x Den went home. Got to go changi send them off. Supposed to meet at 8:30 at changi mrt..so waited at 7:30 for mrt. I regret not going out. =x waited 1 hr till 8:30 for the "direct mrt to changi"..only to go down to control station and find out "there's no more direct train"....... Have to change at tanah merah. !@$!@% Horribly late..so went to call dQ. Gd thing though..kin hup saw me when i was looking for burger king (i juz realised i nver really been to changi) and called to me. Wee! Partner! Anyway..so spent the last 1 hr+ with him, dQ and elijah. Den send them off (i shortcut alot liao) at 10:30+. After sending..my eyes went kinda red..but i didnt cry. I guess i was touched ba. Haiz..gd bye hup..3.5 mths of no hearing ur crap.

Then went to viewing there to stay overnight. Jm charged his new phone there..and we played bridge. Cherie, (wats her name?) and peishan had stomachache..presuming from jasmine's cookies. Peishan is still with wei qiang!! woohooo!! got 5 yrs liao anot? I think so..power sia. When they getting married? :p Tahan whole night...cold..and send gerard (he didnt bring my BTN paper..:( ), lyon off. Saw fiona they all!! Haha..i replied to ur shoutout liao. Then decided to go home and not come back..due to reasons. Slept early

Saturday
After this..still hv to dig out lab coat to iron. NUS offer lab coat washing service!!! $1 plus nia!! Wow! its once a mth. Anyway..today sleep alot. Or was that yesterday? Played wolf and stone mainly. Ok..gtg..iron clothes..i took 2 hrs for today's blog..haiz. And attachment ppl wan me to do log bk. Sian..oh well. Gambatte! out!
