you know how they say..friends come and go?
as you proceed through your life, you enter social institutions like schools and family (much not within your own will of course). Exposure to that certain unique environment hones your social skills and your social norms and you find yourself often acting in a special manner which is considered to be acceptable to others.
friends at this stage, forms part of what you will be too. for example, if you have a good group of crazy fun-loving people, chances are...you'll absorb this fun loving personality as well. same goes for muggers and slackers.
of course, you dont become like your friends. its just peer pressure and influence. but at a certain point in time, you'll find yourself internalising certain traits and alienating other traits.
for example, you lose contact with your old friends. after a long while, you guys meet up but you find yourself being unable to "click" with them anymore. that (to me), is one example of a group of people no longer sharing what they feel is common. and automatically, you repel the thought of being close to them simply cos "they're not like you".
so it comes down to this. does the term "friends forever" apply? i guess it does, only to those who have forged really close ties, shared unforgettable memories and hold that common thing deep down in their heart
outz`treasure your friends. current, new and especially the old.
PS: such a random post. either that, or im going crazy..=x
